Grantees seek expenditure deadline extension

Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery and National Disaster Resilience grantees, from New York to California,want Congress to extend the deadline for completing their projects to September 2025. "As we recover from the economic impacts of COVID-19...granting an extension at this time, as part of those measures, ensures communities throughout our country continue to receive the support they need to weather this storm and the next," said the letter [link to website] to 13 Senate and House delegations.  Seven Rebuild by Design projects in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut face a 2022 deadline.
